Improving the Elastometer Rollers in the Last STB Processing Rack

In minimal cases, the elastomer rollers on the processing rack in the last STB tank become soft and sticky and sometimes swollen. The end effect is that portion of the roller/s stick to the paper and in worst case, "Paper jam occurs in the processing rack."

With this in mind, Noritsu Phils Inc is offerring a promo regarding these rollers - six rollers for the price of one. This is a sure way to cut your expense alloted to machine consumables (gears, rolers, etc.).

With this promotion, we included in this issue of the viewer the proper way to replace the elsatometer rollers on the last STB processing rack.

Replacing the Elastometer Rollers

  1. Turn off the power supply of the machine (make sure that no job order/s is/are being processed).
  2. Open the processor top cover and remove the squeegee rack and last upper turn guide.
  3. Remove the last STB processing rack (it is better to wash the rack before installing the improved elastometer rollers).
  4. Remove the evaporation prevention cover, the drive gear, the evaporation prevention plates (1) and (2) and the gasket.
  5. Remove the springs and the elastometer rollers (side rollers). It is better to lay the rack on its side so as to avoid possible breakage of the processing rack.
  6. Turn the processing rack upside down, and remove the pressure spring and the C-ring. Be advised that pulling the spring with too much force can cause it to worn out. Be careful not to apply too much force on the spring.
  7. Remove the bushing and the lower turn roller. Take extra care in removing the bushing. Too much pressure on the pawls of the bushing may cause it to break.
  8. Pull out the two side rollers and remove the lower turn belt.
  9. Remove the upper guide and the screw. Then remove the center roller.
  10. Replace the side rollers, the center rollers and the gasket with the enclosed ones.
  11. Reinstall the parts as they were. Process test prints and make sure that it passes through the last STB rack properly.
